CAIRO — Al-Ahly suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Pyramids FC at the Air Defense Stadium, in a fourth-round clash of the Egyptian Premier League Championship playoffs.

Congolese striker Fiston Mayele broke the deadlock in the 70th minute. Not long after—just seven minutes later—he scored again.
Then Karim Hafez finished the job in stoppage time, slotting in a third goal at the 93rd minute. That made the hosts’ win look even more convincing.

The result sees Pyramids FC climb to 47 points, holding tight to second place. Al-Ahly stays stuck at 44 points in third, missing out on a big chance to narrow the gap in the title race.
