CAIRO — Pyramids FC have joined an exclusive group of clubs to have won the Egyptian Cup twice after securing a 2–1 victory over ZED FC in the final at Cairo International Stadium.
The triumph sees Pyramids FC align with Olympic, Ismaily, Enppi and Haras el-Hodoud as the only sides to have lifted the competition on two occasions.
They swept into the final after hammering Enppi 4–0 in the semis, while ZED FC made it through by beating Talae el-Geish 3–1 after extra time.
Al-Ahly, on the other hand, remains the competition’s most successful side, having lifted the trophy 39 times.
