PARIS — Olympic bronze medallist pole vaulter Alysha Newman has been suspended for 20 months for whereabouts failures in relation to anti-doping testing, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced.
“The AIU has banned Alysha Newman from Canada for 20 months from December 3, 2025 for Whereabouts Failures. The results from August 23, 2025,” the anti-doping body posted on social media according to Reuters.
The 31-year-old Canadian, who won bronze in the pole vault at the Paris Games, had been provisionally suspended on February 3 for three whereabouts failures over a 12-month period – on February 17, 2025, and on August 17 and 23 of the same year.
She has not competed since the Diamond League meeting in Rabat last May.
