SINGAPORE – Australia’s Hannah Green lifted the LPGA Tour’s HSBC Women’s World Championship for a second time –with her husband Jarryd Felton playing a decisive role on her bag – at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore on Sunday.

It was only the second time that Felton, also a professional golfer, had caddied for her this year.

But it proved to be a perfect winning partnership, as the 29-year-old posted a winning total of 14-under-par 274 to clinch the championship in Singapore by one shot.

“It was absolutely a team effort over the last two weeks, and it’s very special to share my seventh win, which is also my favourite number, with him,” she said according to AFP.

“My usual caddie is applying for a green card and couldn’t leave the US, so it wasn’t part of the plan for the season. Luckily, my husband was able to pick up the bag for me.”

Green started the day tied for the lead with three-time major champion Minjee Lee.

She wasted no time in taking control by opening with a birdie before surging ahead with an eagle on the par five eighth.

She turned in 33 and added further birdies on the 11th and 13th holes. Green then bogeyed 14, but recovered swiftly with another birdie on 15.

Despite a nervous finish where she dropped two more shots on 17 and 18, her three-under-par 69 was enough to pip American Auston Kim and give her a second HSBC Women’s World Championship title, having won also in 2024.

“I was feeling nervous and told Jarryd a couple of times that I wasn’t comfortable. He reminded me to take a deep breath, have a snack or even sip some water,” Green said.

“I haven’t played with this kind of adrenaline in a long time, and we handled it really well.”

Lee, meanwhile, closed with a 72 to finish tied for third with France’s Pauline Roussin-Bouchard and Angel Yin of the United States.
