El-Sayed launched his campaign in commanding fashion, overcoming Canada’s Dylan French 15–12 in the round of 64 with a composed display that highlighted his sharp tactical awareness and control of the bout.

The Egyptian fencer maintained that momentum in the round of 16, producing a confident performance to defeat Switzerland’s Lucas Malcotti 15–10.

The 23-year-old then booked his place in the semi-finals, edging past Czech contender Jakob Jorka by the same score in the quarter-finals and cementing his status as one of the tournament’s standout performers.

El-Sayed’s run came to an end in the semi-finals against Italy’s Davide Di Veroli, one of the world’s elite sabre fencers. Despite a 14–7 defeat, El-Sayed’s overall performance earned widespread praise as he settled for a well-deserved bronze medal.

The podium finish adds to El-Sayed’s growing list of achievements, following his historic bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games — a milestone that cemented his place among Egypt’s fencing greats and strengthened his presence on the global circuit.

El-Sayed’s success once again reflects the steady progress of the Egyptian sabre fencing team on the world stage. Led by a talented new generation and inspired by El-Sayed’s determination and ambition, Egypt continues to position itself as a serious contender for major international.
