MEKNES – Egyptian giants Al-Ahly has been crowned African Handball Cup Winners’ Cup champions after defeating Morocco’s Wydad Samar in the tournament’s final, MENA reported.
Al-Ahly qualified to the tournament for the fourth consecutive year after winning the Egyptian Cup against league champions Zamalek.
The title is the fourth for Al-Ahly after 2013, 2017 and 2018.
The Red Devils took the lead by the end of the first-half and managed to come out on top 12-10.
Al-Ahly kept their lead during the second-half and even managed to increase it to end the 29-24 in their favour.
The Red Devils will now face Zamalek in the African Super Cup on September 10 in Cairo.
