Egyptian Premier League: Zamalek defeats Ismaili 3-1

CAIRO – Defending champions Zamalek beat Ismaili 3-1 in the 10th week of the Egyptian Premier League at Cairo International Stadium.

The White Knights’ goals came from striker Youssef Ossama in the 8th minute as veteran winger Ahmed Sayed ‘Zizo’ scored second goal from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute.

Midfielder Amr el-Sisi added the third in the 45th minute. Ismaili’s sole goal came from Zamalek’s Ahmed Fatouh as he scored in his own net in the 3rd minute.

Zamalek leads the domestic table with 24 points from 10 matches as Ismaili lies on the bottom of the table with only 6 points from 10 games.

Elsewhere, Aswan defeated Al-Masry of Port Said 2-1 at Al-Suez Stadium.

Elyes Jelassi opened the scoring for Al-Masry in the 6th minute as Islam Salah levelled the score for Aswan in the 39th minute as striker Malick Evouna scored the winner in the 90+10.

The victory pushed Aswan to 9th place with 12 points from 10 matches as Al-Masry stayed in 11th place with 11 points from 10 matches.
