CAIRO – El-Gouna came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against defending champions Al-Ahly in a postponed match from the 4th week of the Egyptian Premier League at El-Gouna Stadium.
The Red Devils’ goal came from French striker Anthony Modeste in the 37th minutes from a smart pass from team-mate Taher Mohamed Taher and unleashed a quite stunning strike.
Moroccan winger Ahmed Belhadji converted a penalty in the 47th minutes to salvage the draw.
The result pushed Al-Ahly on top of the domestic league with 13 points from five matches as El-Gouna climbed to eighth place with nine points from six games.
