CAIRO — Zamalek claimed a crucial 1-0 win over Smouha on Tuesday at Borg El-Arab Stadium in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League championship playoffs.
With this result, Zamalek moves to the top of the table—53 points from 25 games. That’s 16 wins, five draws, and four losses, with 38 goals scored and 17 conceded.
Now they just need a draw in their next match against Ceramica to lock in the league title.
Smouha, meanwhile, stays stuck at 31 points from 25 matches—7 wins, 8 draws, and 10 losses.
Pyramids 1-1 Ceramica
Pyramids FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Ceramica Cleopatra at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia.
The result moves up Ceramica to 44 points, still in fourth place, while Pyramids edge up to 51 points in second place.
Al-Ahly 3-0 Enppi
Al-Ahly continued their strong run with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Enppi at Cairo International Stadium.
The Red Devils now sit on 50 points in third place, while Enppi remains on 36.
