CAIRO – Al-Ahly is set to face South Africa’s Sundowns at Cairo International Stadium, while Zamalek will be hosted by Moroccan Wydad in the CAF Champions League’s group stage on Saturday.

The Red Devils are keen to defend the title and lift the trophy of the continental tournament for the third time in row.

Ahly started their mission in the group stage of the continental tournament’s current edition with 0-0 draw against Sudan’s Al-Hilal away from home.

Ahly’s first round game in the CAF Champions League group stage against Sudanese Merriekh was postponed because of the Red Devils’ participation at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Al-Ahly was drawn in Group A along with Sudan’s El-Hilal and Al-Merrikh and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, which lead the group with four points.

Meanwhile, Zamalek are set to clash with Moroccan Wydad on Saturday at Mohammed V Stadium as part of qualifications of Group D of the African Champions League.

The draw for the group stage of the African Champions League landed Zamalek in Group D, along with Moroccan Wydad Casablanca, Petro Atletico and Sagrada of Angola.

Zamalek come in the third position of the group with two points, two points behind leaders Petrol Atletico, while Al Wyadad hold the second position with three points. said, leaving a jagged hole of ravaged apartments over several floors. A rescue worker said six civilians were injured.
