CAIRO — Egypt’s national football team is set to play a friendly match against Russia on May 28 as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The match, set to be played at the New Capital Stadium, forms part of a coordinated effort between the Egyptian Football Association under Hany Abou Rida, the national team’s technical staff led by head coach Hossam Hassan, team director Ibrahim Hassan, and United Sports Company.
The initiative aims to deliver a high-quality preparation programme designed to ensure the squad is fully ready for the 2026 World Cup.
Ibrahim Hassan said Egypt will travel to the US on May 30 to continue preparations, where it will face Brazil in a friendly on June 6 in Ohio.
