Egypt’s national karate team has officially secured the top spot in the overall medal standings at the Karate 1–Premier League in Istanbul, Türkiye, held from January 21 to 26, 2026.
This historic achievement saw Egypt claim the first-place position among all participating nations after an exceptional performance that resulted in a total of six medals, including two gold, three silver, and one bronze. This victory reinforces Egypt’s global standing in the sport and highlights the technical and administrative excellence of the Egyptian Karate Federation.

The gold medals were captured by Abdalla Mamdouh in the Men’s Kumite -75kg category and Omar Ashraf Osman in the Men’s Kumite -84kg category.
The team’s success continued with three silver medals earned by Youssef Badawy (Men’s -84kg), Taha Tarek (Men’s +84kg), and Hadeer Hendi (Women’s -68kg).
Ahmed Ragab El-Masry added to the tally by securing a bronze medal in the Men’s +84kg category, while Rahma Tolba and Hazem Ahmed delivered strong performances to finish in fifth place in their respective divisions.

This remarkable triumph was made possible through the continuous support of the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the strategic vision of the Egyptian Karate Federation, led by Mohamed El-Dahrawi.
This collective success not only showcases the talent of Egyptian athletes but also confirms Egypt’s leadership in the international karate arena, raising the national flag high on the global stage.
