The Egyptian U-17 national football team has officially secured its spot in the upcoming Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
This qualification follows a decisive victory over Libya 2-1 during the fourth round of the North African qualifiers.
With this win, Egypt has earned a total of 6 points, placing them second in the group standings.
While Morocco currently leads the group with 9 points, Egypt’s current standing guarantees their qualification for the tournament finals.
Because the top three teams from this qualifying group move forward, Egypt’s position is safe regardless of what happens in the remaining matches.
The qualifying tournament, organized by the North African Football Union (UNAF), is being held in a round-robin format.
The final set of matches is scheduled for Sunday, April 5, where Egypt will face off against Algeria at 2:00 PM. On the same day, Morocco will play Libya to wrap up the competition.
