El-GOUNA, Egypt — Egypt is preparing to host one of the most prominent international sporting events, as it will stage the Junior World Cup of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) (rifle/pistol/shotgun) from April 19 to 27, as part of the state’s efforts to strengthen its presence on the global sports stage.

The championship will witness wide participation, with more than 255 male and female shooters representing around 25 countries from various continents, reflecting the high level of international confidence in Egypt’s organisational capabilities and its ability to host major tournaments in line with the highest technical and administrative standards.

Competitions will be held at the shooting ranges of the Egypt International Olympic Games City in the New Capital, which has become a model for modern sports infrastructure thanks to its world-class facilities and advanced technologies that meet the latest international specifications, making it a preferred destination for hosting major sporting events.

Hosting this championship comes within the framework of the Egyptian Shooting Federation’s strategy, under Hazem Hosny, which aims to develop the junior sector and provide opportunities for exposure to different international schools in the sport, contributing to refining players’ skills and preparing a generation capable of achieving international accomplishments.

The championship also represents an important opportunity to highlight the remarkable progress witnessed by Egypt’s sports sector in recent years, especially with the expansion in the establishment of modern sports facilities, which have turned the New Capital into an advanced hub for hosting international events.

The championship enjoys strong support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, led by Minister Gohar Nabil, within the framework of the Egyptian state’s approach to empowering sports federations and enhancing their capabilities to host and organise major international tournaments.
