YAOUNDÉ — Egypt’s male and female gymnasts, continued to dominate the podiums at the 2026 African Artistic Gymnastics Championships, which is currently held in Cameroon’s capital, Yaoundé.
In the Senior category, Mohamed Abdel-Qawi secured gold in the pommel horse finals, while Mazen El-Sayed clinched two gold medals, topping the podium in both the floor exercise and rings finals.
Rising star Abdullah Shaarawy won three silver medals, finishing second in the floor exercise, pommel horse and rings finals.
Olympian Omar El-Arabi won gold in the rings finals, while Omar El-Shobki claimed silver in the pommel horse and bronze in the rings.
Mohamed Montaser earned gold in the pommel horse finals and bronze in the floor exercise.
In the junior category, Gozal El-Garhi won silver in the vault finals, while Malak Mokalled secured silver in the uneven bars.
Tia El-Medany captured gold in the uneven bars and added bronze in the vault, while Sirine Abou El-Hoda claimed bronze in the vault finals.
Egypt’s men’s artistic gymnastics team includes Omar El-Arabi, Mohamed Afifi, Omar El-Shobki, Mostafa Ahmed and Yehia Zakaria.
Egypt’s women’s artistic gymnastics team features Jana Mahmoud, Jana Abdel-Salam, Judy Abdallah, Sirine Abou El-Hoda and Claudine Soliman.
The junior boys’ team comprises Abdullah Shaarawi, Bilal El-Gazzar, Mazen El-Sayed, Mohamed Abdel-Qawi and Moaz Abou Ward.
The junior girls’ team includes Khadija Mazhar, Malika Ahmed, Malak Mokalled, Tia El-Medany and Gozal El-Garhi.
