CAIRO — The Egyptian national judo team secured first place and the gold medal at the African Senior Judo Championships, held from April 24th to 26th in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Egyptian champions claimed the title and the gold medal in the mixed team event after a dominant performance, defeating Tunisia 4-0 in the final.
Egypt’s team finished first after winning all its matches against Kenya, Angola, and Tunisia during the tournament.
Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil congratulated the Egyptian Judo Federation, headed by Mohamed Motei, and the national team.
The minister said that the result reflects the progress of judo in Egypt and the work of the federation and coaching staff.
