The Egyptian finswimming team took home 12 medals four gold, four silver, and four bronze at the Taranto Mediterranean Games.
Their strong performance placed Egypt third in the finswimming event, behind Italy and Greece.
In total, Egypt finished fifth overall across all sports with 29 medals (9 gold, 9 silver, and 11 bronze).
Tarek Hassan led the gold medalists by winning two top spots in the 100m monofin and 50m underwater races.
Mohab Ehab won gold in the 400m monofin, and Ahmed Hesham Radwan took gold in the 200m bi-fins.
Four swimmers secured silver medals for the country: Salma Rabie (50m bi-fins), Mariam Mohamed Helmy Hegab (50m underwater), Nada Magdy Hegras (400m monofin), and Ahmed Awad (200m monofin).
Egypt also earned four bronze medals. Ahmed Hesham Radwan took bronze in the 100m bi-fins, and Mohab Ehab won bronze in the 200m monofin. The team added two more bronzes in the 4x100m mixed monofin relay and the 4x50m mixed bi-fins relay.
Other Egyptian swimmers also earned top positions in their races. Nada Magdy and Mariam Mohamed Hegab both finished fourth in their events.
Farida Mohamed Said finished fifth, while Renad Tamer and Saif Khaled Saad El-Din placed sixth. Ahmed Hesham Radwan and Salma Raslan both rounded out the team’s strong showing with seventh-place finishes.
