SPOKANE (United States) — Egypt’s senior national football team mission arrived in the US city of Spokane in the early hours of Tuesday, coming from Canada after playing New Zealand in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Egypt secured its first-ever World Cup victory by defeating New Zealand 3-1 in the second round of the tournament’s group stage.
The team’s journey from the Canadian city of Vancouver to Spokane took 45 minutes aboard a private aircraft.
Egypt moved to the top of its World Cup group after the conclusion of the second round with four points, having drawn 1-1 with Belgium in the opening match before defeating New Zealand 3-1 in the second round.
The Egyptian team is now preparing to face Iran next Saturday in its final group-stage match of the World Cup.
