Cairo International Stadium will host a major celebration on Monday evening to honour Egypt’s national football team in an event organised by United Sports Company.

The ceremony will recognise the Pharaohs’ historic achievement at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Egypt reached the Round of 16 for the first time before bowing out following a spirited 3-2 defeat to Argentina.

Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil said the event follows a series of official tributes to the national delegation, including a reception and honouring ceremony hosted by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in New Alamein City.

The celebration will feature a special tribute to the entire squad and coaching staff, who will appear together on the main stage.

It will also include a variety of entertainment performances celebrating what the minister described as a landmark achievement for Egyptian football.

Nabil said the event would give football fans across the country an opportunity to celebrate the national team’s success and express their pride in a generation of players that has written a new chapter in Egypt’s sporting history.

Meanwhile, the operator of Cairo Metro’s Line 3 announced that services will be extended by one hour on Monday to accommodate supporters attending the celebration.

Trains will continue operating until 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, providing a safe and convenient transport option for fans travelling to and from Cairo International Stadium.
