Egyptian giants Al-Ahly cruised into the 2026-27 CAF Confederation Cup group stage in style, beating Uganda’s FC Kitara 4-0 on Sunday in Cairo to complete a 6-1 aggregate victory and secure their spot in Wednesday’s draw.
After coming back from Hoima with a 2-1 victory last weekend, the “Red Devils” proved to be too much for their Ugandan visitors, scoring four without reply at the Cairo International Stadium on the night.

Hussein El-Shahat opened the scoring for Al-Ahly after 38 minutes, capitalising on Kitara’s goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa blunder to send a lobing ball over his head to the net.
A minute before halftime, Mohamed Magdi “Afsha” doubled Al-Ahly lead when he scored from a close range after Taher Mohamed dispossessed Kitara’s defence the ball as Al-Ahly went to the break leading 2-0 and cruising to victory, cafonline.com reported.

El-Shahat completed his personal brace after 52 minutes, with a right footed screamer from inside the box.
And it soon became 4-0 when Taher headed home from a close range, making the best of substitute Ahmed Eid cross, as Al-Ahly completed a 6-1 aggregate win to seal their spot in the group stage.
