CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi received on Tuesday members of the Egyptian karate team after they won six medals at the Karate 1-Premier League event in Portugal, in addition to Ali el Sawy’s success in qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
During the meeting, attended by chairman of the Egyptian Karate Federation Mohamed el Dahrawy, the sports minister expressed his pleasure of the achievement made by the team, as well as Sawy’s qualification for the Olympics.
Sobhi asserted that the Ministry of Youth and Sports did not and will not spare any effort in providing all kinds of support to all Egyptian sports federations and national team players in order to help them honor their country at all continental and international events.
