The Ministry of Civil Aviation denied news circulating on some social networking sites regarding stopping the operation of treadmills at Cairo International Airport to reduce electricity consumption.
The ministry confirmed that the treadmill system operates normally and regularly throughout the day, and no decision has been issued regarding stopping it or reducing electricity consumption during its work.
The ministry also clarified that any services affecting the workflow at Egyptian airports and other vital facilities that deal directly with customers are not prejudiced.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet Media Centre denied news purported about power load-shedding as per the services at Cairo International Airport.
In a statement on Tuesday, the media centre said it contacted the Civil Aviation Ministry, which dismissed the news as baseless.
The ministry stressed that all services at the airport are going on normally around the clock.
