The inspection aligns with directives from Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny, emphasizing the importance of enhancing security, health, and environmental measures across Egyptian airports.

The committee, which includes representatives from relevant authorities, was welcomed by the airport’s director, Captain Ashraf Khalaf. They reviewed passenger operations, assessed the airport’s readiness to handle flights, and evaluated the effectiveness of security and health protocols in place.

The committee monitored passenger flows, air traffic operations, and security measures, while also evaluating the quality of services provided in the terminal’s departure and arrival areas. The inspection included key facilities such as the airport’s perimeter, the passenger terminal, lounges, duty-free shops, catering areas, and customs and immigration procedures.

Additionally, the committee inspected the control tower, meteorology services, information center, and the security room equipped with a surveillance camera system.

The visit reflects ongoing efforts to ensure that Sphinx International Airport is fully prepared to accommodate increased passenger traffic and meet international standards in time for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is expected to attract visitors from around the world.
