Accomplishments of Egyptian Aviation Academy in 2025

The Egyptian Aviation Academy achieved many accomplishments and successes during 2025. Minister of Civil Aviation  Sameh el-Hefny witnessed the signing ceremony of a co-operation protocol between the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation and the Egyptian Aviation Academy, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The protocol aims to strengthen joint co-operation in the fields of training, qualification, and human capital development.

The protocol was signed by Eng. Ayman Arab, Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, and pilot Ezzat Metwally, Chairman of the Holding Company of the Egyptian Aviation Academy.

The protocol aims to enhance mutual co-operation in training and qualification fields via preparing and implementing specialised training programme to qualify and develop skills of employees working at Egyptian airports and their affiliated companies, in line with the latest ICAO standards and the regulations of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority.

It also includes setting annual training plans and organising advanced courses in air traffic control, airport management and operation, aeronautical information, and communications, in addition to providing opportunities for practical training and field visits.

Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny also attended the graduation ceremony of a new class of students from the Institute of Aviation Engineering and Technology, affiliated to the Egyptian Aviation Academy.

The ceremony was held at the main conference hall of the Ministry, in the presence of captain Ezzat Metwally, Chairman of the Academy, Dr. Amina Omar, Acting Dean of the Institute, along with a number of civil aviation officials, faculty members, and the graduates’ families.

Also, el-Hefny witnessed the signing of training co-operation protocols between Air Cairo and both of the Egyptian Aviation Academy and EgyptAir Training Academy.

This co-operation comes within the framework of the Air Cairo Transformation (ACT) project, which represents a qualitative change step forward in the aviation training system.

The project aims to prepare highly qualified engineers, flight dispatchers, and cabin crew through specialised training programmes in co-operation with nationally and internationally recognised institutions.

The minister also received the Italian Ambassador, Michele Quaroni. During the visit, both sides attended a ceremony organised by the Egyptian Aviation Academy to sign a strategic co-operation agreement between SAVIS Aviation Services — the academy’s national training partner — and the Italian FLYON Aero Academy, one of Europe’s leading institutions in aircraft maintenance training. The agreement aims to enhance the quality of technical training in this field.

Moreover, el-Hefny and Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation, witnessed the signing of a co-operation protocol between the Electronics Factory affiliated to the Authority and the Holding Company of the Egyptian Aviation Academy, at the Authority’s headquarters in Cairo.

Minister Sameh el-Hefny also attended the graduation ceremony of the 86th class of the Air Traffic Control College. The celebration was held at the Ministry’s conference hall, in the presence of captain Montasser Manaa, Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation, captain Ezzat Metwally, Chairman of the Egyptian Aviation Academy, and captain Medhat Abdallah, Dean of the Air Traffic Control College, along with a number of civil aviation leaders, faculty members, and the graduates’ families.
