With the sixth anniversary of the martyrs of the EgyptAir Airbus 320, Flight 084, which crashed into the Mediterranean in May 2016, the Western media, including the French, English and American, surprised us with speculation about the cause of the accident.
In the investigation of the accident, which included experts from Egypt, France, and the company that manufactured the plane, Airbus, no reasons, even tentative, were announced for the cause of the accident.
The Western media surprised us that the cause of the accident was that the pilot of the plane smoked a cigarette next to the oxygen tank, which led to a fire and an explosion in the tank.
The pilot and his assistant were not smokers, and this is not just a defense, but it is a documented information that is known by far and near.
Secondly, how can the Airbus manufacturer keep silent about such nonsense, which clearly reveals defects in the manufacture and insurance of the aircraft, especially since, according to my modest information, the oxygen tanks in the cockpit and the tanks of the plane in general are secured to withstand the highest levels of atmospheric pressure.
Thirdly, the investigations into the accident are carried out by an Egyptian committee at the highest level of expertise and technical competence, with the participation of the various relevant international bodies, in addition to the Egyptian judiciary, in cooperation with the French judiciary, as it is the country of manufacture of the plane and its last take-off station, Paris.
These articles, which are unjustly called, reminded me of what the Western media raced against after the crash of our national airliner in the Atlantic Ocean at the end of the last century, when the Western media cheered that the cause of the crash was the suicide of Captain Al-Batouti.
The cause of the accident is a technical defect in the tail assembly, which is the reason discovered by Egyptian investigators and recognized by the US Federal Aviation Safety Authority, about 22 years after the accident, when it published last year the results of the Egyptian investigation committee on its official page, which discovered manufacturing defects in the tail assembly of the plane.
The manufacturer has corrected these defects.
We are not here in a position to respond to such nonsense, but we are defending the martyrs of the plane because they are in the realm of truth, and we will not hesitate to defend them with truth until our last breath.
In general, we will not publish leaks about the accident – and most of them – are in accordance with international laws and norms in the field of aviation, which stipulate that the technical committee for investigation has the inherent right to announce the true causes of the accident, and not just a group of amateurs dreaming of such superstition.
May God have mercy on both Captain Mohamed Choucair, his assistant Captain Mohamed Ahmed Mamdouh, the hospitality crew and all the passengers on the plane.
By the way, all respect and appreciation to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the leaders of EgyptAir and the various agencies concerned in Egypt for their commitment to silence and not responding to Western media hoaxes.
