EgyptAir has signed a co-operation protocol with Vodafone Business to contribute to enhancing the digital transformation of healthcare services provided by EgyptAir Hospital, and to provide remote healthcare services on its flights, relying on the company’s advanced digital solutions.
The protocol was signed by Ayman Salah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir Medical Services, and Mahmoud El Khatib, CEO of Vodafone Egypt, in the presence of Mohamed Abdullah, CEO of Vodafone Egypt, Engineer Yahya Zakaria, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir Holding Company, and Engineer Yasser Mohamed Omran, Head of the Information Sector at EgyptAir Holding Company, and the project execution team from both parties.
The innovative solutions provided by Vodafone Business aim to provide an integrated digital system for the main EgyptAir Hospital, in addition to two affiliated clinics. The system includes more than 350 beds to serve citizens as well as employees of EgyptAir Holding Company and its subsidiaries, and entities contracting with the hospital. The hospital’s digitisation project aims to empower its staff to provide better levels of care. Through this collaboration, Vodafone Business also provides remote healthcare services on all EgyptAir flights immediately to all passengers.
The hospital’s digitisation and digital transformation plan includes providing and deploying a range of advanced solutions to create a more efficient and effective healthcare system. Advanced Health Information Systems (HIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems will be implemented to facilitate smooth data management and communication. A secure cloud environment dedicated to healthcare will be created to ensure optimal performance and high protection of personal data. The project will manage all hospital activities, from procurement and scheduling of doctors to linking all hospital departments and referral system from one department to another and from general practitioners to specialists, according to patient needs.
Ayman Salah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir Medical Services, praised the partnership with Vodafone Egypt to implement advanced Health Information Systems (HIS) at EgyptAir Hospital, noting that the project is part of the digital transformation plan adopted by the company in all operating systems of the Holding Company and its subsidiaries.
