The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation has appointed Captain Ahmed Salama Motar as Assistant to the CEO for Operations, Safety, and Quality. He has been seconded from EgyptAir Holding Company.
Captain Motar has built an extensive career, holding several leadership positions and gaining broad management experience.
He previously served as Deputy Director of the Integrated Operations Centre at EgyptAir, before moving to the Holding Company for EgyptAir, where he held various roles, including Director of External Inspections (SAFA), Director of Air Safety in the Safety and Quality sector, General Manager of Fuel and Emissions Management, and later General Manager of Safety.
Most recently, he served as Deputy Head of the Safety and Quality Sector.
In addition to his role at EgyptAir Holding, Captain Motar is the Chairman of the Environmental Policy Committee at the Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) and a member of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s committee for airport audits and inspections.
Captain Motar has represented EgyptAir Holding at numerous international events, including COP28 in Dubai in 2023 and USAID’s sustainability projects forum, among many other conferences. He has received various training certifications from ICAO, IATA, the Arab Air Carriers Organisation, and EgyptAir Training Academy.
