Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny has appointed Pilot Karim Gamil as the Director General of International Air Transport Agreements at the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. Along with this new position, Pilot Gamil will continue to serve as the Advisor to the Head of the Authority, bringing his extensive industry knowledge to both roles.
With over 20 years of experience as a pilot for EgyptAir, Pilot Gamil has a proven track record in leadership and training.
He previously managed the training of new pilots and led departments focused on safety, quality, and reducing environmental emissions. His deep hands-on experience in the cockpit and the office makes him a perfect fit for overseeing international aviation deals.
On the world stage, Gamil represents Egypt in several major organisations.
He works closely with the European Union and African countries to share technical expertise and improve flight standards.
He also holds leadership positions in the Arab Civil Aviation Organisation and the African Civil Aviation Commission, where he helps shape the future of flight across the region.
One of his most important responsibilities is leading efforts for cleaner flying.
He works with the International Civil Aviation Organisation to promote sustainable fuels and study new ways to make aviation more eco-friendly.
