Captain Sameh Mohamed Fawzi, Head of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, received Hussein Qabbani, the Regional Aviation Security Expert at the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Office in Cairo, on the occasion of the end of his tenure at the office.
During the meeting, Fawzi expressed his sincere appreciation and thanks to Qabbani, praising his significant contributions over the past five years, which had a strong impact on supporting and developing aviation security and facilitation systems across the Middle East region.

He also highlighted Qabbani’s role in strengthening coordination mechanisms and joint co-operation among member states.
Fawzi also praised Qabbani’s vital role in establishing professional partnership and strengthening the exchange of expertise, which contributed to achieving the objectives of the ICAO in aviation security and facilitation, and improving performance in line with the highest international standards.
The meeting was attended by Captain Ahmed Sokr, Vice President for Airport Safety and Air Navigation Affairs, and Engineer Yasser Abdel Halim, Head of the Central Administration for Aviation Security.
For his part, Hussein Qabbani expressed his pride in his time working in the region, noting that the achievements made were the result of close co-operation and shared commitment among all partners. He also praised the continuous support provided by the Arab Republic of Egypt to the regional office, particularly in the field of aviation security.
