Engaging Egyptians abroad: New horizons for civil society co-operation 10 - Egyptian Gazette

By Mohamed Attia

Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny emphasised that the Ministry of Civil Aviation pays special attention to communicating with its citizens abroad.

Having represented Egypt in various international forums, Minister el-Hefny added that Egyptian communities abroad, including the Egyptian community in Canada, play a vital role in enhancing bilateral relations with host countries.

“The Egyptian communities also convey the ongoing development renaissance that Egypt witnesses in all fields,” the minister said, adding that the Ministry always welcomes initiatives and recommendations that contribute to upgrading the civil aviation system and supporting the national economy.

He also highlighted that cooperation with civil society organisations and national personnel abroad opens new avenues for communication and integration.

This came during the minister’s reception at the headquarters of the ministry for Marwa Ghorab, Vice President of the General Union of Egyptians in Canada, and Jacqueline Saad, Secretary-General of the American Coptic Council and member of the Political Committee of the National Council for Women.

Both sides reviewed several topics that reflect the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s keenness on strengthening co-operation and communication with Egyptians at home and abroad, in a way that benefits from their expertise in comprehensive development issues.

For her part, Marwa Ghorab praised the pivotal role of the Civil Aviation Ministry in supporting the state’s development plans, noting that continuous communication with Egyptian communities abroad contributes to boosting national links and highlighting the reality of Egypt.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline Saad expressed her appreciation to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for the warm reception, emphasising that the meeting reflects Egypt’s eagerness to communicate continuously with representatives of communities abroad and to listen to their recommendations and ideas.

She also pointed out that the American Coptic Council and the General Union of Egyptians in Canada are keen to support the state’s efforts in highlighting its accomplishments on the international stage.
