Captain Wael El-Nashar, Chairman and CEO of the Egyptian Airports Company, conducted an unannounced field visit to Alexandria International Airport to follow up on daily operations and review the progress of ongoing development projects, as part of the company’s plan to enhance operational efficiency and improve passenger services.
The visit included monitoring the project to upgrade the baggage handling system and CT scanning devices at Terminal 1, which is being implemented by Metco Company. El-Nashar reviewed the project’s progress and completion rates, stressing the importance of adhering to the scheduled timelines and executing works according to the highest technical and operational standards.

He also inspected the upgrading works of the VIP lounges at Terminal 1, as part of efforts to develop services at the old terminal, aiming to enhance the travel experience and improve passenger comfort and service quality.
During the visit, El-Nashar emphasised the importance of continuous field follow-up of various projects and full coordination between executing entities and airport departments, to ensure maximum operational efficiency and smooth passenger flow within the airport.
He also praised the efforts of airport employees, stressing the need to continue adhering to quality and safety standards, which reflect the modern image of Egyptian airports and strengthen their competitiveness at both regional and international levels.
