The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, headed by Engineer Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, will host the 71st session of the African Airports Council (ACI) Conference and Exhibition, under the title “Airports: The Engine of Social, Economic and Sustainable Growth”. The conference will be held from February 24 to March 1, 2024, with the participation of 400 members representing airports and international organizations from 52 African countries.
Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Minister of Civil Aviation, pointed out that Egypt’s hosting of the conference in its current session confirms the confidence of African aviation organizations in its role in supporting regional and continental cooperation in the field of air transport.
He added that the selection of Cairo to host the conference is a promising opportunity for the participating delegations to visit the historical and archaeological landmarks in the city, especially in light of the development boom that the Egyptian state is witnessing in all fields, and the development work being carried out in Egyptian airports in the civil aviation sector to keep pace with the increasing number of passengers on the African continent.
