The Egyptian Pilots Association recently held its annual iftar event, where it recognized the contributions of seasoned pilots and paid tribute to the late Captain Kamal Abu Al-Khair and Captain Atef Aziz, with attendees observing a minute of silence in their honor. Shields were presented to their families in appreciation of their significant efforts and expertise.
Ali Roshdi, President of the Egyptian Pilots Association, emphasized the event’s goal of fostering unity among pilots, highlighting the strong camaraderie among all aviators. He credited the pioneers of the association for turning a long-held dream into reality in 1967, creating a proud entity that has enriched civil aviation with exceptional pilots over the past 50 years.
Roshdi proudly declared that the association boasts the most capable pilots regionally and internationally, capable of making sound decisions even in the most challenging operational circumstances, showcasing their technical skills to the world.
Deputy President of the association, Khaled Rafat, affirmed that the association serves as a permanent home and a protective umbrella for pilots, emphasizing that love and dedication to work are the foundations of any successful system.
The event was attended by Dr. Samah El-Hafnawi, a member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), John Elias, advisor to the Minister of Civil Aviation, Captain Amr El-Sharkawi, President of the Civil Aviation Authority, Engineer Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, President of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, Captain Mohamed Alian, Deputy President of EgyptAir Holding Company, as well as representatives from the General Union of Air Transport and Air Hospitality, and several senators and deputies.
