Chairman and Managing Director of EgyptAir Holding Company Ahmed Adel has been named President of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) for its upcoming term.
The decision followed the 59th AACO Annual General Meeting in Doha, where Egypt was selected to host the 60th AGM in Cairo in November 2027.

Adel highlighted that hosting the event reflects global confidence in Egypt’s central role as an international aviation hub.
During the conference, Adel stressed that updating EgyptAir’s fleet is a key strategic goal to boost the airline’s global competitiveness. Modernising the fleet with efficient aircraft will allow the airline to expand its international network and meet evolving passenger expectations.

He also held meetings with executives from Boeing and Airbus to review delivery schedules for incoming Boeing 737 MAX 8 and Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
The annual summit covered major industry challenges, including supply chain disruptions, rising fuel costs, digital transformation, and sustainable aviation fuels.
Adel praised Qatar Airways for hosting the 59th AGM and reiterated the importance of regional co-operation among Arab carriers to ensure long-term industry growth.
