EgyptAir plus renews ISO certifications for 19th consecutive year 12 - Egyptian Gazette

By Mohamed Attia

EgyptAir Airlines has successfully renewed its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications for the 19th consecutive year, passing a comprehensive audit with zero observations or non-conformities.

The renewal confirms the airline’s compliance with standard requirements for ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management), ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety), and ISO 10002:2018 (Customer Satisfaction). The certification followed an inspection conducted by a delegation from GIC EGYPT, a leading firm specializing in quality auditing.

Commitment to global standards

Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, expressed his satisfaction with the results, noting that ISO certifications represent the highest international benchmarks in these fields. He emphasized that the achievement reflects the company’s capacity for continuous development and the improvement of passenger services.

“The primary objective of these certifications is to ensure the safety of operations and various activities while enhancing airline efficiency,” Adel stated. He added that the accomplishment underscores EgyptAir’s commitment to international safety and quality standards, befitting its status as a global carrier and a leader in the Middle East and Africa.

Operational Excellence and Integration

Following a meeting to discuss the final audit report, Captain Mohamed Elian, Chairman of EgyptAir Airlines, extended his gratitude to the audit preparation team and all employees. He highlighted that these certifications are a vital prerequisite for EgyptAir’s membership in both the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Star Alliance.

Elian remarked that the success demonstrates the competence of the operational teams and their ability to maintain peak quality and safety levels throughout all stages of work. He attributed this ongoing success to teamwork and integration across company sectors, alongside the continuous updating of systems to align with evolving international requirements.

Rigorous audit process

The audit verified the implementation of all standard requirements through coordination between the General Department of Safety, Quality, and Measurements headed by Captain Ahmed Raafat and his deputy, Captain Ahmed Moharram and various sectors within the airline. The performance was highly commended by the GIC Egypt inspectors.

The GIC Egypt delegation praised the performance, efficiency, and dedication of the staff in applying all necessary international criteria, which enabled them to secure the renewal in a manner that reflects EgyptAir’s prestigious history.

This successful inspection is considered a pivotal step in reaffirming the company’s position as a major airline at the forefront of safety and quality procedures, following its successful completion of several other audits, including the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) and GHS (Global Harmonized System).
