EgyptAir has successfully passed a three-day security audit conducted by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Cairo International Airport and EgyptAir Airlines from Sept 20 to 24, 2026.
The audit reviewed security procedures for EgyptAir flights to the United States, including operations in New York, Washington, New Jersey, Chicago and Los Angeles, as part of the TSA’s regular assessment of compliance with US security requirements.
EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman Pilot Ahmed Adel said successfully passing the audit reflects the efficiency of the airline’s security system and its ability to meet international security requirements for US-bound flights.
The audit covered key areas including air cargo and mail, catering and onboard services, passenger and checked-baggage screening, aircraft security, and measures to prevent unlawful interference and other security threats.
EgyptAir Security Sector Head Major General Ismail Safwat said the audit demonstrated the advanced level of the company’s security system and the efficiency of its personnel. He added that EgyptAir continuously monitors US security requirements and aligns its operational procedures accordingly to ensure sustained compliance.
The successful audit is expected to support EgyptAir’s plans to expand its US market operations and increase its future destinations, as compliance with US security requirements is essential to maintaining and expanding services.
