EgyptAir Maintenance obtains ISO 27001 certification in information security.

Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, Ahmed Adel, congratulated the employees of EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering Company for their outstanding efforts, which contributed to successfully passing the audit conducted by TNV System Certification Pvt. Ltd., the certification body that granted the company the ISO 27001 certification for its Information Security Management System.

He stressed that obtaining this international certification reflects the company’s commitment to continuously improving its operations in accordance with the highest international standards.

Adel praised the company’s strong commitment to information security standards and its efforts to expand and strengthen its portfolio of international certifications across various fields. He noted that cybersecurity has become an essential component of modern business systems, particularly in the aviation sector, which increasingly relies on information systems and data.

He also stressed the importance of continuing to develop the company’s data protection framework and investing in the skills and expertise of its employees to support and improve information systems and enhance their efficiency.

For his part, Chairman of EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering Company, Eng. Mohamed Sami, said that this achievement reflects the company’s commitment to securing aircraft maintenance data, protecting its critical assets, and ensuring business continuity in accordance with international regulations and standards.

Sami explained that the successful audit, which included reviewing and updating information security policies, assessing risks, and evaluating response plans, strengthens the company’s international recognition and increases the confidence of international customers and partners in the quality and efficiency of its services.

He added that the certification is also in line with the requirements for maintaining the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval related to information security for aircraft and aircraft component maintenance and overhaul organisations.

The ISO 27001 certification adds to the comprehensive portfolio of international approvals and certifications held by EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering Company, including the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval, as well as ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems, ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, and AS9110 certification for Aircraft Maintenance Quality Management Systems.

The ISO 27001 certification is also the result of the company’s efforts to implement international best practices and standards in information security. It reflects the effectiveness of its data management and protection systems, enhances its operational readiness, and supports its ability to meet the evolving requirements of the global aviation and aircraft maintenance industry.
