Acquisition of new Boeing 737 MAX full flight simulator to support pilot training and sustainability initiatives

EgyptAir Training Academy announced the expansion of its long-term strategic partnership with FlightSafety International, a global leader in aviation training and simulation technology, with the acquisition of a new Level D Boeing 737 MAX Full Flight Simulator (FFS), along with a Level 1 Flight Training Device (FTD).
The agreement was signed during the Dubai Airshow 2025 and witnessed by Pilot Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company. The signatories were Pilot Walid Soliman, Chairman of the EgyptAir Training Academy, and Matt Laue, Vice President of Sales at FlightSafety International.
Pilot Ahmed Adel confirmed that the partnership with FlightSafety International spans many years and has achieved significant successes. Adel added that the new 737 MAX simulator is a major step toward ensuring pilots receive the highest level of training, aligning with EgyptAir’s continuous commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
Adel explained that the new device is scheduled to enter service in early 2026, coinciding with EgyptAir’s expected delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. He also noted that the Academy’s existing Boeing 737 Next Generation (737NG) simulators will undergo a sustainability-focused upgrade to support both the NG and MAX fleets. These enhancements will boost the Academy’s training capacity and increase the flexibility of training programs for EgyptAir pilots and other regional airlines in Africa and the Middle East.
Michelle Bosi, Executive Vice President of Sales at FlightSafety International, expressed her delight in continuing the collaboration with EgyptAir Training Academy. She stated that the agreement is an extension of a partnership that began over fifteen years ago, reflecting EgyptAir’s confidence in FlightSafety’s technology, high reliability, and exceptional services.
The partnership between FlightSafety International and EgyptAir dates back to 2009, when the first custom-designed Boeing 737NG simulator was installed for the company. The new 737 MAX simulator represents a new chapter in this successful relationship.
The new devices will be supported by FlightSafety’s comprehensive Service and Operations Support (SOS) program, ensuring the highest technical performance and minimal downtime.
