Sharm Air Sports has officially launched a strategic initiative to establish a private-sector alliance dedicated to modernizing and expanding Egypt’s air sports industry. Announced during the company’s annual Iftar banquet, the initiative marks a collaborative leap forward for the sector.
The event was attended by high-profile industry leaders, including Captain Sameh Fawzy, Head of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, alongside representatives from prominent firms such as Legend of the Nile, Cleopatra, Alcan Air, Sky Dive Pharaos, Sky One, and the Egyptian Aviation Academy.

Pilot Khaled Refaat, Chairman of Sharm Air and a veteran aviation expert, expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support provided by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Civil Aviation Authority.
He emphasized that Egypt is uniquely positioned to lead in this field, leveraging its peerless collection of historical sites and diverse natural attractions. According to Refaat, while the sector initially faced operational hurdles, close cooperation with state authorities has successfully streamlined the industry, making it increasingly popular among both domestic tourists and international visitors from markets like Italy, Russia, and Ukraine.

The economic impact of this expansion extends beyond tourism, according to Dr. Hani Osama, CEO of Sharm Air and Chairman of TEZ Tourism.
Dr Osama highlighted how air sports have become a powerful tool for cross-sector marketing, benefiting real estate, banking, and automotive industries. Through a partnership with the advertising agency Silverscreen, aerial advertising has emerged as a premium medium for brand visibility.
He noted that the new alliance will focus on service integration and fleet sharing to ensure a seamless experience for clients.

Central to this development is a rigorous commitment to safety and international standards.

Dr Osama confirmed that all participating companies adhere to strict regulatory controls, with periodic aircraft maintenance conducted by the Egyptian Academy of Aviation Sciences.
By prioritizing air safety and technical excellence, the alliance aims to create a sustainable and sophisticated ecosystem that diversifies national investment and reinforces Egypt’s status as a premier destination for aerial adventure.
