The Arab Republic of Egypt has officially launched the fifth edition of the “Fly In Egypt Rally 2025”, taking place from October 10 to 18 under the auspices of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, in coordination with the Ministries of Youth and Sports, and Tourism and Antiquities. The event is organized in cooperation with the Egyptian Aviation Federation (Egyptian Aviation Club) and Flying Pharaoh Air Sports Company, under the supervision of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI).

The rally kicks off from Sphinx International Airport, charting a route over several of Egypt’s most prominent historical and tourist landmarks before concluding at Hurghada International Airport.

A total of 12 aircraft, piloted by over 30 competitors from 13 Arab and European countries, will take part in the cross-country aviation challenge, blending high-precision flying with sightseeing and exploration.

Minister of Civil Aviation Dr. Sameh El-Hefny commended the strong coordination among state institutions involved in the event’s organization.

“Hosting the fifth edition of the Fly In Egypt Rally reflects the international community’s confidence in Egypt’s ability to stage global events at the highest professional standards,” he said.

“This is not only an aviation competition, but a message from the skies of Egypt to the world — affirming our will and capacity to host major international events according to global benchmarks.”

El-Hefny stressed that the rally reinforces Egypt’s position as a safe and attractive destination for sports and air tourism, while confirming its regional leadership in civil aviation. He also highlighted the importance of integrating aviation, tourism, and sports initiatives as a significant driver for the national economy and a creative approach to promoting Egyptian destinations from above.

Representing the Ministry of Civil Aviation at the opening ceremony was Sameh Fawzy, Vice Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and Supervisor of Air Sports.

Dr. Yasser Menisi, Chairman of Flying Pharaoh, expressed gratitude for the government’s support and praised the seamless coordination between all involved entities.

He noted that Egypt has been a pioneer in aviation since the establishment of the Egyptian Aviation Federation in 1910, and through initiatives like the Fly In Egypt Rally, continues to promote aviation culture among youth and boost its footprint in the international air sports arena.

Menisi added that the Fly In Egypt Rally shines a spotlight on Egypt’s diverse landscapes and favorable aviation climate, serving as a powerful tool for strengthening the sports tourism sector in ongoing collaboration with the FAI.

The rally will conclude at Hurghada International Airport after an eight-day aerial tour across several Egyptian cities and iconic landmarks — reaffirming that Egypt’s skies remain a top global destination for aviation enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.
