Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny recently met with Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organisation (ACAO) Khaled el-Sharkawy at the ministry’s headquarters. 

The meeting focused on boosting co-operation, sharing expertise, and coordinating plans to build a more competitive and modern Arab air transport system that can easily adapt to global changes.

During the discussions, el-Hefny highlighted ACAO as a vital strategic partner in developing the region’s aviation sector. 

He pointed out that Egypt, which currently holds the presidency of the ACAO General Assembly, remains dedicated to supporting the organisation’s goals. 

He added that the trust shown by Arab nations in electing Egypt to this leadership position reflects the country’s pivotal role in encouraging regional unity and collaboration.

El-Sharkawy expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s warm hospitality and praised the nation’s advanced expertise and leadership, which continue to drive the organisation’s success. 

Both leaders discussed future priorities, including how to put the General Assembly’s latest recommendations into action, expand training programmes, and work together on sustainable development goals.

To wrap up his visit to Cairo, the ACAO Director General also met with Captain Sameh Mohamed Fawzy, Chairman of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. 

Their meeting focused on practical technical co-operation, sharing hands-on experience, and working together to raise safety, security, and efficiency standards across Arab aviation to benefit all member states.
