The Higher Committee for Security and Environmental Inspection, chaired by Captain Samih Fawzy, President of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, and representatives from relevant ministries and government entities, conducted inspection visits to Alexandria International Airport and El Alamein International Airport to review the readiness of operational facilities and ongoing development projects.
The visits are part of efforts to enhance Egypt’s airport system in line with the highest standards of safety, security, and quality.
The committee began its tour at Alexandria International Airport, where it reviewed the progress of several development projects, including the upgrade of the airport’s electronic gate system and the implementation stages of the project.

It also inspected the ongoing modernisation of the XCT baggage screening system, reviewed the progress achieved, and toured the project to rehabilitate the airport’s internal roads starting from the advanced checkpoint.
In addition, the committee followed up on the construction of a new storage hangar as part of the airport’s plan to strengthen its operational infrastructure and improve service quality.
The committee also visited El Alamein International Airport to assess the readiness of the departure and arrival halls, baggage handling system, boarding gates, and passenger and baggage screening equipment.
The tour included a review of the airport’s technical and logistical facilities to ensure the efficiency of its operational systems and their readiness to accommodate air traffic, while maintaining smooth passenger flow, faster processing procedures, and high operational performance.
