Coinciding with the 63rd anniversary of its inauguration, Cairo International Airport will officially launch its new smartphone application next Saturday.
Engineer Ayman Fawzy Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, said the new app marks an important step toward improving passenger services and adopting smart solutions.
The application offers travellers and visitors a full range of interactive digital services from the planning stage of travel until departure from the airport, acting as a “smart personal assistant” for passengers travelling to, from, and through Cairo International Airport.

noted that digital transformation has become essential for improving daily operations, keeping pace with international airport standards, and enhancing passenger satisfaction by providing a smoother and more flexible travel experience.
He explained that the project is the result of more than a year of work to upgrade the airport’s technological infrastructure, including providing computers, launching a unified network, activating official email systems, and training employees to fully implement the new digital system.
Arab added that the transformation supports the “paperless office” concept by improving institutional performance, speeding up workflow, and enhancing coordination between departments.

He also said the company adopted several systems to ensure flexibility and integration, including a global platform for document management and an ERP Finance system to connect operational and financial procedures.
He confirmed that traditional paper-based transactions will largely be phased out, with paper documents used only in limited cases under specific regulations.
Meanwhile, Magdy Ishaq, Chairman of Cairo Airport Company, said the app features a modern and user-friendly interface and provides several important services, including live flight tracking, arrival and departure schedules, terminal information, and baggage carousel numbers for arriving flights.
The app also allows passengers to book premium services such as the “Ahlan” service,Fast Track access, and luxury lounges across the airport terminals.
In addition, the application includes an interactive airport services guide showing ATM locations, free Wi-Fi areas, parking spaces, currency exchange offices, baggage wrapping services, and other facilities available inside the airport.

The app also offers support services, including requests for special assistance such as wheelchairs for elderly passengers and people with disabilities, as well as a lost-and-found reporting system.
Additional features include the “Discover the Airport and Cairo” section, which highlights restaurants, cafés, nearby airport hotels, tourist and entertainment information for transit passengers, and transportation booking services to destinations in Cairo.
The application also includes a smart airport map that helps travellers navigate Terminals 1, 2, and 3 and easily reach gates and different airport facilities.
