President of FC Barcelona Joan Laporta welcomed Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company Ahmed Adel and his accompanying delegation at Spotify Camp Nou, on the sidelines of the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The meeting highlighted the strategic partnership between Egypt’s national carrier and the historic Spanish football club, which is set to continue until 2029.

During the meeting, Laporta congratulated EgyptAir on being named the “World’s Most Improved Airline for 2026” by Skytrax, the international air transport rating organisation.
The award recognises the airline’s progress in improving its services and enhancing the overall passenger travel experience.

Discussions focused on ways to maximise the partnership’s potential to strengthen EgyptAir’s international brand presence and expand its reach among wider audiences in global markets, leveraging FC Barcelona’s extensive international popularity and global fan base.
As part of efforts to promote the achievement, EgyptAir displayed its Skytrax award on the stadium’s advertising screens during the match, highlighting the airline’s progress and commitment to improving service quality.

The initiative reflects EgyptAir’s efforts to capitalise on its partnership with FC Barcelona to enhance its international visibility, reinforce its brand image, and strengthen its competitiveness in the global aviation market while continuing to elevate the passenger experience.
