Air Cairo has announced that all of its flights to Türkiye will now operate from Istanbul Airport as part of the airline’s ongoing plan to strengthen its presence in international markets and expand its route network to meet growing travel demand.
Hussein Sherif, Chairman and Managing Director of Air Cairo, said the move is part of the company’s strategy to continue expanding internationally through co-operation with major global airports.
Sherif said the expansion also reflects Air Cairo’s vision of strengthening direct links between Egypt and Türkiye, not only through Cairo but also through Egypt’s leading tourist destinations, including Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada. He noted that this will support inbound tourism while boosting trade and investment between the two countries.”
As part of its expansion plans, Air Cairo will launch direct flights between Istanbul and Sharm el-Sheikh starting October 26, 2026, followed by direct flights to Hurghada beginning December 26, 2026.
By the end of 2026, the airline will operate 11 weekly flights between Istanbul and Egypt, connecting passengers with Cairo, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Hurghada. Bookings for all flights are already available.
