Air Cairo launches new flights from Armenia to Alamein 13 - Egyptian Gazette

By Mohamed Attia

Air Cairo has successfully launched its inaugural direct flight connecting the Armenian capital, Yerevan, to Alamein International Airport.

The arrival of the first flight was met with a festive reception at the airport, welcoming a group of Armenian tourists arriving to explore Egypt’s premier coastal attractions.

This strategic route highlights the airline’s ongoing success in penetrating targeted international markets while firmly establishing the city of New Alamein as a premier, competitive destination for global tourism and investment along the Mediterranean coast.

The introduction of this direct service aligns seamlessly with Air Cairo’s broader mission to stimulate inbound tourism and provide travelers with streamlined, direct transit options to Egypt’s rapidly growing coastal hubs.

By opening this corridor, the airline is driving increased tourist traffic from European and regional markets that continue to show a strong appetite for Egypt’s diverse travel experiences.

This initiative not only enhances air connectivity but also directly supports the national economic and tourism sectors by linking promising international markets with Egypt’s modern developments.

Board Chairman of Air Cairo Hussein Sherif stressed that the Yerevan-Alamein route is a powerful addition to the company’s expanding network, reflecting deep international confidence in Egypt’s robust tourism sector.

Sherif noted that the decision to establish this connection came in direct response to a surge in travel demand from the Armenian market.

He reaffirmed that Air Cairo remains dedicated to executing forward-thinking expansion plans, exploring new international destinations, and aligning its operations with the Egyptian government’s strategic vision to revitalize the national tourism footprint.

Furthermore, Sherif underscored the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality, comfortable, and direct travel services that cater to the expectations of global passengers.

To accommodate this growing interest, Air Cairo currently operates a weekly direct flight between Yerevan and El Alamein every Wednesday, with concrete plans to scale up operational capacity in the near future to match the rising volume of passenger and tourist traffic between the two nations.
