Chairman and CEO of the EgyptAir Holding Company, Ahmed Adel, stressed that the Arab Air Carriers’ Organisation (AACO) serves as an important platform for strengthening co-operation and exchanging expertise among Arab airlines, particularly amid the ongoing developments and challenges facing the air transport industry.
Adel noted that greater joint efforts are needed to serve the interests of Arab airlines, enhance their competitiveness, support growth, and achieve sustainability.

These remarks came as EgyptAir Holding Company hosted the 104th Executive Committee meeting of the Arab Air Carriers’ Organisation (AACO) in Cairo. The meeting was chaired by Secretary General of AACO, Abdel Wahab Teffaha, and attended by Adel, along with the heads of several Arab airlines, including Saudia, Tunisair, Royal Air Maroc, Middle East Airlines, and flynas. Rabab Hamdy, Head of Alliances and International Relations at EgyptAir Holding Company, also attended the meeting.
Teffaha stressed the importance of continued coordination and co-operation among Arab airlines to facilitate the exchange of expertise and strengthen their ability to address the rapid changes and challenges facing the air transport industry at both the regional and international levels.

The meeting discussed several key issues related to the air transport industry. Participants reviewed the latest developments in the sector in light of current regional and international challenges, as well as the rapid changes affecting the aviation industry and their impact on airlines.

Discussions also covered environmental sustainability and efforts to reduce emissions in the aviation sector. Key topics included updates on the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), and global developments in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), including the challenges related to its production, availability, and wider use in the aviation sector.
