A new step forward for Sphinx International Airport 13 - Egyptian Gazette

By Mohamed Attia

Starting October 1, Sphinx International Airport will join the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme of Airports Council International (ACI), supporting the use of standardised international methods to measure and evaluate the level of services provided to passengers.

The programme is based on collecting passengers’ feedback and ratings of the various services provided at the airport and turning the results into data and measurable indicators that can be analysed. This helps identify strengths, areas for improvement, and development priorities based on objective results.

Participation in the programme will allow the airport to benefit from an international benchmark for evaluating service quality and monitoring performance. It will also support the efforts of the Egyptian Airports Company to apply quality standards and improve its ability to develop services and respond more effectively to passengers’ needs.

Chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company, Wael El-Nashar, said that Sphinx International Airport’s participation in the ASQ programme reflects the company’s commitment to keeping pace with international developments in airport management and operations, and benefiting from international experiences and practices to improve service quality.

He added that the company is working to establish an approach based on continuous measurement and evaluation as one of the foundations for improving performance. He noted that the programme’s results will help support development decisions and identify priorities more accurately, which will contribute to improving the efficiency of services provided to passengers.

El-Nashar also pointed out that expanding the use of international quality systems is part of the company’s strategy to improve the standards of its airports and strengthen their competitiveness. He emphasised that passenger feedback is one of the key factors in evaluating service quality and determining areas for improvement.
