Tunisia is entering a new phase now that the country has been purged of its Ennahda movement — the Tunisian branch of the despicable Muslim Brotherhood group that was working on erasing Tunisia’s national identity.

Tunisian President Kais Saied has fulfilled the people’s wish by suspending parliament, firing the prime minister, and taking security measures to counter any terrorist act by Ennahda Party and its supporters.

Undoubtedly, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) sows division in any country they set foot in, plunging it into anarchy. It’s high time for the Arab nation to rid itself of the evils of the MB, which drove the Arab countries it governed to chaos, civil war, sectarian strife and deteriorating in living conditions.

The MB is not loyal to any nation, but to certain foreign powers working against the interests of the Arab region. The MB is a mere tool used by these powers to fulfill their own political goals. The MB-affiliated media has begun to spearhead a campaign claiming that the Tunisian president’s decisions to suspend parliament and sack the premier were undemocratic. But the majority of Tunisians support their president’s decisions as they were tired of Ennahda’s obstructing legislation they disliked. The Tunisians’ message was loud and clear: Enough is enough of divisive policies and using religion as a justification.

The MB is known for using violence and committing terrorist crimes to avenge any action by a state to remove it. However, the Tunisian people should not surrender to attempts by the MB to break their will. They should rally around their leader, who has made courageous decisions to save the nation from falling into disarray and support their army in confronting terrorism.

In addition, Tunisia’s security authorities should be on high alert to foil plots hatched by Ennahda movement and its party faithful. Also, security must be tightened on Tunisia ‘s land borders, which are hotbeds for MB terrorist splinter groups.

Surely, Tunisia without the MB will be totally different. The Tunisians’ resilience in the face of MB criminality is the only way forward on the road to safety. The Arab states must support the Tunisian people and help them restore stability and economic prosperity. Tunisia is part of the future of the whole Arab nation.
