Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdel-Aati, congratulated Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba, on assuming her new post, wishing her success in carrying out her responsibilities.

He also affirmed Egypt’s pride in the longstanding fraternal relations between the two countries and its commitment to further strengthening bilateral co-operation and coordination across various fields.

Egypt, Harvard partner to train teachers at Military Academy

Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education signed on Saturday a co-operation protocol with the Harvard Graduate School of Education to launch a specialised training programme at the Egyptian Military Academy.

Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, and Director of the Egyptian Military Academy, Major General Mohamed Salah El-Turki, attended the signing ceremony.

SCZone posts all-time high revenues at LE15.9b

Egypt’s General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has achieved the highest annual revenues in its history, recording LE15.9 billion during the 2025/2026 fiscal year, which ended on June 30.

In a statement released on Saturday, the SCZone revealed that this performance exceeded its budget target of LE10.5 billion by 51 per cent.

Russia hits Kyiv with ballistic missiles, drones

Russia launched an intense barrage of ballistic missiles and drones overnight into Saturday, killing at least nine people and wounding 30 civilians in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, authorities said.

The strikes follow a major Russian attack two days earlier that killed at least 10 people and wounded more than 50 others across Ukraine, as Moscow apparently looks to exploit Kyiv’s critical shortage of Western-supplied anti-ballistic missile defences.

Spain installs floating barrier in Ceuta

Spain said migrant crossings into its North African enclave of Ceuta had stopped overnight, as police began installing a 500-metre (1,640-foot) floating barrier on Saturday off its border with Morocco following a mass rush that killed at least 67 people.
